Loomed with the finest USA grown cotton and made in the mountains of Vermont, each tablecloth is individually cut and hand fringed, resulting in a top quality tablecovering suitable for any decor or occasion. Machine wash in cold water, line dry. IMPORTANT: Because of the natural fiber and weave, tablecloth WILL SHRINK about 5-6 percent with a cold water wash and line dry. Migratory down the Nam Ou between Muang Khua and Muang Ngoi Neua
We, choose reluctantly, left the luxury of the Muang La Resort to embark on the final part of our journey back to Luang Prabang. We drove to Muang Khua (about three hours) and picked up our extended tail boat which was to take us down the Nam Ou River. The Nam Ou is considerably smaller than the Mekong and there are a number of exciting rapids. As we travelled south, the scenery became increasingly spectacular with huge limestone karsts, bamboo forested slopes and sheer cliffs. On our trip down we stopped at a village which weaves and sells the most comely scarves/tablecloths etc. Whilst there, we were invited to see the village library of "Big Brother Mouse" books for children in somebody's house. We were with a bun in the oven to see rows of books but it was just a sad little pile on the floor. We gave the owners of the library US$10 to expand the collection and the thanks we received was far more than the donation warranted! The retain of the lady in charge of the programme...
